![]() ![]() On alphas a low force and a low sound combined with "tzac" of the blues on the mods, is well balanced this way. Each type of switch has its own unique characteristics and benefits. So I swapped on the alphas the stems with blacks, the mix now is blues on the mods, green on the space and blacks with blue springs on the alphas, I like this combo. There are three main types of switches: linear, tactile, and clicky. The sound was driving me crazy, it was like one of my daughters cheap rattlers, or pieces of lego in a bag. Recently I bought a board with MX blues, at the beginning I liked them, especially the feeling, but after a full weekend of typing on them I started to hate this type of switches. My first board had MX reds, and I loved it from the beginning, after that I bought the HHKB and I must say Topre are the best switches for me, sound, feeling, everything. However, I do not think I would like a variable weight keyboard, at least among the alpha switches. There’s no tactile or auditory feedback when you press them, and they require the least amount of force to actuate. Pressing them is a straight, smooth path from the top to the bottom. All switches fall under 3 broad categories: Linear: The simplest type. You might even consider putting different weights of clicky switches on different keys, like the variable-weight RealForce Topre-switch keyboards. Switch Comparison: Linear vs Tactile vs Clicky. In such a mix, I would put clicky switches on the alpha keys. A linear switch, by contrast, does not have a tactile bump within the switch mechanism, so the key press is smooth until the entire key has been pressed down (called bottoming out) A clicky switch is a specific type of tactile switch (that has a small bump but with the addition of another mechanism that provides a very small click noise. If I were mixing clicky and non-clicky switches, I would probably go for a non-clicky switch for the spacebar, which usually makes more than enough noise without adding a clicky switch. Blue switch 45gf soft feeling linear switches. Unlike the bumpy rise tactile switches and clicky switches with loud noises, the linear switches are far quieter and come with a fast actuation, smooth, and. I have not tried clears, but from what I have read, I think I might like them. Golden switch 50gf tactile switches a great option for gaming. Although Cherry mx switches are not my favorites, within this group I prefer greens. Clicky switches provide strong tactile feedback and an audible clicking sound with every keystroke. ![]() Which blend would you recommend: reds for mods and blues for alphas, or the other way around? Or something very different? I'm asking especially those of you, who know and like both types of switches. Linear switches offer a smooth, silent keystroke and are often used in gaming keyboards.
